Tratos highlights moving application cable solutions at TOC Europe

Innovative cable manufacturer Tratos, a recognised cable name in Ports and Maritime, will exhibit its high-performance cable solutions at TOC Europe’s Conference and Exhibition in Amsterdam later this month (27th-29th June).

TOC Europe (The Terminal Operations Conference) is a showcase for port and terminal technology and operations. This year sees four distinct visitor areas: The Port Technology Exhibition, Container Supply Chain Conference, Tech TOC seminars and conference, and Bulk Technology and Logistics seminars.

The exhibition and conference attracts visitors from across Europe and it is aimed at port and terminal professionals as well as those who own, move and handle containerised cargo. Market recovery and the redesigning of supply chains in the digital era will be at the forefront of discussion during the three-day event.

On stand and throughout the event, Tratos will highlight the benefits of its Tratosflex range for moving applications which includes cables for monospiral and multi-spiral reeling; basket reeling, festoons and spreaders. Its cables supply power, control and signalling functions including fibre-optic cables and components operating on high speed applications up to 300 mt/min.

Tratosflex ESDB cables are used worldwide for ASC, STS and ERTG cranes, without any corkscrew effect. At Euromax in Rotterdam, Tratos has recently marked eight years continuous running of its ground-breaking high-speed medium-voltage reeling cables.  The cables were installed in what was at the time, the fastest and most efficient automated rail mounted gantry cranes (ARMGs) in the world. These high-performance cables are now installed in more than 300 ports around the world.

In China, Tratos engineers have worked on site at Qingdao Qianwan Container Terminal (QQCTN), commissioning and carrying out system checks before reeling cables for 38 automated stacking cranes, go into commission.

Here Tratos has supplied 38 lengths of ESDB high-tension reeling cables with Chinese customers announcing their satisfaction with the cables’ excellent performance and the company’s professionalism in setting up and introducing the system.

Earlier this year Tratos sponsored this year’s Port Equipment Manufacturers Association (PEMA) AGM and welcomed the UK’s Minister for Transport, Rt Hon John Hayes CBE MP to the event. Mr Hayes joined port equipment manufacturers from all over the world in London to hear first-hand how industry experts plan to handle the squeeze as globalisation slows. During opening remarks the Minister forecast an “era of investment” in port equipment, adding that “deep sea ports are ever more important.”

Tratos can be found at Stand F64 at TOC Europe.
