Tratos Launches Highest-level Governance Strategy
Tratos’ board has fully embraced the highest standards of governance by fully adopting the Code of Conduct for public appointment. A Queen’s Award-winning company built on innovation and quality, this latest move toward even more far-reaching governance best practice was launched as a primary goal and lead strategy for the company in 2021. Under the conditions of the code Tratos executive and non-executive board members are expected to work to the highest personal and professional standards. The Code clearly sets out what is expected from UK public bodies’ boards and forms part of members’ appointment terms and conditions. As well as setting out what is expected, it covers what is not. It includes zero tolerance for harassment, bullying or other inappropriate or discriminatory behaviour. Any breach of the Code is viewed as a breach of the terms of appointment.
The code’s principles were devised to govern all non-executive members on the boards of government departments, non-ministerial departments, executive agencies, non-departmental public bodies (NDPBs), and national public corporations. Tratos is trail-blazing its own best practice as a commercial company fully adopting the code and upholding its standards.
The Code complements the provisions of existing governing documents that may reference board members’ responsibilities and obligations.
Tratos Board and Sustainability Responsibilities
For sustainability to work it must be managed and measured. Any company or organisation that commits to making a real contribution to advancing sustainability has to understand the gains, the challenges – and even the failures – in order to deliver it. Tratos created a structure that gives clear responsibilities and reporting lines.
