Tratos, has won BS ISO 45001 across its UK and European manufacturing operations.
The Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation winning company, which has its UK production facilities in Knowsley, Merseyside, had to meet rigorous requirements in order to acquire the Occupational Health & Safety (OH&S) standard.
The standard tackles a global need to improve the occupational health and safety of workforces, enables organizations to provide safe and healthy working conditions that prevent work-related injury and ill health, and proactively improve OH&S performance.
It aligns with other key management systems standards such as ISO 9001 quality management and ISO 14001 environmental management – both of which are also held by Tratos.
This year we launched our sustainability strategy, following on from full adoption of the UN’s 17 sustainability goals. Tratos’ mission has, for more than 50 years, been about people. Our mission is to create jobs in deprived areas. Sustainability, if you really mean it – and we do – is not about ‘supporting’ a cause, it is about helping deliver it, every single day. Sustainability runs across looking after people as well as finding better ways to live with and protect our planet. Keeping people safe, keeping the environment safe, living and working sustainably – ISO 45001 is part of our focus on ensuring we’re honest, transparent, and doing the right thing.
