Cable innovator Tratos Cavi SPA has taken a tough stand against cyber-attack.
In a move to ensure protection for its own business – and the businesses of its customers – the independent global cable manufacturer has gained a Cyber Essentials Certificate of Assurance.
Tratos commissioned independent experts to carry out a cyber security audit across the business to triple check the robustness of its defence against electronic threats.
The CE Certification was awarded after an assessment which found that Tratos met the Cyber Essentials implementation profile published in February of 2017, pronouncing the company’s ICT defences as satisfactory in defence of commodity-based cyber-attack.
Cyber Essentials helps companies guard against the most common cyber threats and demonstrates commitment to cyber security.
In order to gain Cyber Essentials accreditation companies have to:
- Secure Internet connection
- Secure devices and software
- Control access to data and services
- Protect from viruses and other malware
- Keep devices and software up to date.
The Government-backed certification is assessed annually and is aimed at reassuring customers that IT security is a priority and that there is a clear understanding of the business’ cyber security level. It is designed to create a tougher first-line defence against common online threats.
