Cable company Tratos has joined Made in Britain, a community of more than 1,000 based manufacturers that sell goods, manufactured in the UK. Tratos joins a diverse group of manufacturers making hundreds of different products across the country.
Tratos, an innovation-led cabling company, develops and manufactures its cable locally and exports globally. Earlier this year the company completed a multi-million-pound investment at its UK manufacturing base in Knowsley, Merseyside including structural expansion work at the plant which extended the factory four-fold. The investment has resulted in 40 new jobs.
A business and consumer campaign, Made in Britain promotes manufacturing in the UK and overseas. It was originally conceived by Merseyside company Stoves – a British cooker manufacturer in 2011, before evolving into an independent, not-for-profit organisation in June 2013.
Commenting upon its membership, Maurizio Bragagni, CEO of Tratos UK said: “We are proud to be members of this very important group and we value the opportunities that Made in Britain presents. Working with and supporting other like-minded British businesses, as we head towards Brexit is vitally important. We believe that big businesses come from small businesses, and small businesses that are home-grown tend to hold on to their roots. In short, they stay in the UK.”
Made in Britain works to unite, support and promote all manufacturers and the entire British manufacturing sector within the UK and around the world. The Made in Britain marque is accredited to businesses that sell goods that have been manufactured or have undergone a final substantial change in the United Kingdom before sale.
