With a long track record in their manufacture, Tratos’ Medium Voltage (MV) cables are found in installations throughout the world. Tratos’ MV cables are specified by utilities, industrial plants, highways, mining and tunnelling as well as Oil & Gas installations. Its cable range is manufactured to the most exacting and restrictive national and international standards. Available in standard and non-standard lengths, Tratos MV cables are made to the highest quality and rigorously tested at our own R&D test facilities including the largest Faraday cage in Europe.
Tratos MV cables are available with circular stranded copper or aluminium conductors and triple extruded, dry cured HEPR or XLPE insulation. Metallic insulation screens can be copper tape or wires, single or three core, armoured or unarmoured. Polyethylene or PVC sheathed up to 26/45 kV. Water blocked and Lead sheathed versions are also available. Tratos also manufacture and supply covered overhead conductors up to 33 kV
Tratos not only supply insulated Power Distribution cables, Tratos also manufacture a complementary range of High Temperature Low Sag (HTLS) overhead conductors made from an innovative hybrid lightweight carbon fibre/glass/aluminium sheathed central strength member with high temperature zirconium-aluminium wires (TAL) as the conducting element.
MV Cables supplied by Tratos are not confined to use on land, TratoSubmarine medium voltage cable was chosen by Edison for its Alba Marina floating storage and offloading vessel (FSO) and Rospo Mare B Platform, in the Adriatic Sea. The IEC 60228 and IEC 60502-2, IEC 60840 to 26/45 KV, TratoSubmarine cable comes with a copper or aluminium circular stranded conductor, extruded semi-conducting layer, HEPR insulation and a special PE inner sheath and overs heath. It features double galvanised steel armouring for exceptional durability, making TratoSubmarine ideally suited to the oil and gas and utilities’ markets. TratoSubmarine power cable replaces the existing Tratos cable fitted at the Alba Marina and Rospo Mare B Platform in 2004.
