The local AZZAWIYA REFINERY CO. (ARC) recently awarded a $300,000,000 refinery upgrade contract to France-based TECHNIP-COFLEXIP. And, the company is now said to be planning a second development phase.
ARC is reportedly said to be considering the installation of:
– A new residual fluidized catalytic cracker unit;
– Methyl tertiary butyl ether (MTBE) facilities;
– An additional sulfur treatment plant.
Azzawiya Oil Refining Company (ARC) was evaluating revised proposals from two international consultants for the project management consultancy (PMC) contract to oversee the construction of a fully protected harbour at Azzawiya. The new bids were submitted in early October by Denmark’s COWI and Royal Haskoning of the Netherlands. The revised bids follows the submission of bids from four international consultants in September–the other two being Denmark’s Niras International and the UK office of Japan’s Nippon Koei.
