Tratos announces the sale of Modular Wiring Systems (MWS) following a successful turnaround strategy. Dedicated to the promotion of the Modular Wiring concept in commercial electrical and other installations, MWS was acquired by the Tratos in 2008. At the time MWS faced a challenging financial situation and was in need of re-structuring. The Tratos team worked with the existing management to improve product quality, refine pricing and develop better financial management structures. This resulted in an expansion of MWS’ client base and a subsequent 20% turnover increase in the last two years, positioning the company as sector leader and facilitating the management buy-out.
Maurizio Bragagni commented: “In the past few years we have acquired companies in difficulty with the objective of returning them to financial health for onward sale. Our relationship with MWS has been greatly productive and I am extremely proud of delivering the company to its next stage of growth. While from a personal standpoint it is sad to see close colleagues move on, professionally I am delighted to have played a part in enabling the company to pursue its own destiny. MWS shall remain part of the Tratos spirit”.
The sale of Modular Wiring Systems is the second successful divestment of Tratos in the last two years and follows the lucrative sale of Hamilton Powersafe in 2013.
