Marina Bay Sands, Singapore played host to the 2015 TOC Asia Exhibition on the 21st and 22nd of April. Amongst the exhibitors there was Tratos with representatives from its International Sales Offices based in the surrounding area.
The TOC Asia Exhibition provides an ideal platform for port, shipping and terminal organisations and providers to meet within an environment entirely dedicated to the industry. The event hosted for Terminal Operators, Shipping Lines, 3PL’s and BCO’s, so as to provide networking opportunities for those who own, move, and handle large volumes of containers.
Tratos, within its Tratosflex range, has had an established sales presence for a number of years within the industry and thanks to the quality and reliability of its high-speed reeling cable solutions it has become a well-known supplier to end users for global ports. Tratos, in addition to cable solutions alone, provide an Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) service with comprehensive after-sales support. As an EPC company Tratos are capable of detailed engineering design for a project; with the ability to also procure equipment and materials required for the task in order to then proceed by constructing the application themselves.
One such example of Tratos’ cable solutions being utilised in high profile applications is at the Busan Port in Korea; the world’s 5th busiest container port and largest transshipment port in North East Asia. In addition to supplying Tratosflex cable for use on 32 high-speed cranes; so far the biggest single order of crane reeling cable in the world, the Tratos team spent time on site to control and inspect the cranes and continue to be at the disposition of the customer for technical after-sales support they may require.
Even though Tratosflex’s performance and reliability standards have been proven over the past few decades; Tratos’ Research and Development department have continued to make further improvements in terms of design, materials, and construction processes – meeting new, challenging, and specific standard and application requests made by the customers. This has lead Tratos to become internationally recognised as a key player within the Port industry.
