Tratos exhibited for the 3rd time at the Offshore Mediterranean Conference in Ravenna. The exhibition achieved a record breaking number of attendees; with over 18,000 people passing through the doors during the three-day event.
Tratos was able to exhibit to industry leaders during an event which showed an encouraging rise in interest within this mature, global industry, in light of the current status.
Tratos products on display at OMC 2015 included a selection from its extensive range of low and medium voltage, instrumentation and umbilical cables. These can be produced to a very wide range of standards including UK standard BS 6883, Norwegian standard NEK 606, and to International standard IEC. Moreover, due to the extensive research and development performed within Tratos’ five manufacturing facilities based in the UK and Italy, the company can provide bespoke cabling solutions to customer’s specific standard and application requests as part of the ‘Cables Tailor Made’ department.
Despite the current market situation, OMC Ravenna proved to be a complete success for Tratos. The stand attracted a large number of interested visitors; prompting engaging conversations concerning Tratos itself and the Oil and Gas sector as a whole.
Due to the wide range of cables produced, the flexible approach and know-how, Tratos is able to meet the evolving needs within this ever-changing market. An example of this is the new product family ‘Tratos JBA®’, which has been favoured by Tratos’ clientele thanks to its improved quality of mud resistant, fire resistant, resistance to extreme temperatures and extreme conditions; including water and impact. Examples of customers who have adopted this product are firstly Saipem; for their SSDR Scarabeo 5; an Italian-built rig designed specifically for Norwegian conditions which has been refurbished using several million euro’s worth of Tratos Oil & Gas Cables. Secondly; the Clipper South Gas Field and its wellhead platform, owned by Shell, which has been developed by Rosetti Marino and is located off the North East Coast of East Anglia, UK in the North Sea.
For Tratos, as a European manufacturer of Offshore Oil and Gas cable solutions; the Offshore Mediterranean Conference is a good platform from which to showcase a range of high-quality, reliable products to Engineers, Technical Specialists, Manufacturers and Operators; such as Qatar Petroleum, Total, Shell and ENI.
