Campaigning cable manufacturer Tratos joined members of the All-Party Parliamentary Fire Safety and Rescue Group this month.
Tratos, represented by non-executive director Simon Blagden CBE, was invited on the back of its Safer Structures Campaign. The campaign, an initiative from Tratos CEO, Dr Maurizio Bragagni MBA, was set up in the wake of the Grenfell Tower disaster. Its aim is to push stakeholder industries to look holistically at buildings’ infrastructure in order to ensure no stone is unturned to keep housing, offices and public buildings fire safe.
The All-Party Parliamentary Fire Safety & Rescue Group is an informal cross-party interest group which has been in operation for more than eighteen years. It is made up of 29 Members of Parliament and Peers.
The Group meets bi-monthly to consider fire safety & rescue issues to bring to Government’s attention, as well as receive updates and news of research and important safety matters arising from live incidents.
Chaired by Sir David Amess MP its board includes Vice Chairs Chris Davies MP and Mary Glindon MP, Secretary Jim Fitzpatrick MP, Treasurer Peter Aldous MP and Hon Administrative Secretary Ronnie King OBE, Ost.J, QFSM.
Simon Blagden is also non-executive Chairman of Fujitsu UK and a member of UK leadership team.
