Tratos is investing in the future of the rail industry with an active role within the Rail Forum Midlands (RFM).
In a sector as fast-paced as rail, Tratos believes it is important to keep up to date on all key industry developments.
This includes understanding the future direction of the industry, how client expectations will change and issues such as corporate social responsibility, safety and workforce diversity. Its membership of the RFM supports this understanding.
Commenting upon the membership Chris Harris, UK Sales Manager said: “UK rail has a significant amount of central and regional government involvement. In short, it’s a complex business with multiple stakeholders across, involved in setting policy and infrastructure priorities as well as managing the franchise process and developing the supply chain.
“We believe that RFM adds significant value for its members by maintaining close relationships with key government departments and meeting regularly with officials and politicians to promote greater understanding of the environment in which our businesses operate.”
Getting to know other companies actively within the rail community is a key part of the Forum’s work – whether they be potential clients or collaborative partners. The organisation provides a forum through variety of events such as its annual conference which took place earlier this month (18th October) and Tratos attended.
The Forum also organises VIP visits to the Midlands and maintains a strong presence at major rail exhibitions. Involvement with the Rail Supply Group and others ensures a representative voice, especially when addressing the rail industry’s strategic priorities, such as skills development and growing exports.
More recently members have been involved in initial development work for a rail sector deal – with a clear view on how this might benefit members.
