Tratos SRL has been awarded EMAS Environmental Certification.
EMAS – the EU Eco-Management and Audit Scheme – is a management system developed by the European Commission to enable companies and organisations to evaluate, report and improve their environmental performance. The body spans all economic and service sectors and is applicable worldwide.
Companies such as Tratos SRL, which already complies to environmental management systems such as ISO 14001, are stepping up to support EMAS’ goals, goals Tratos shares.
Businesses in receipt of the certificate are those which apply an intelligent approach to the consumption of resources, with saving resources a priority and operating centrally-held good environmental practices.
The certification is the latest recognition of Tratos SRL’ dedicated core sustainability strategy. The strategy embraces manufacturing, materials, energy and emissions, recycling and reuse – and innovating to reduce, and ultimately eliminate waste.

The European Commission is also behind The Environment Action Programme (EAP), which Tratos supports, which is conceived to help guide EU action on the environment and climate change.

Towards Net Zero Emissions
Carbon dioxide (CO2) is the main greenhouse gas, accounting for 81% of total UK greenhouse gas emissions in 2019, while 87% of all human-produced carbon dioxide emissions come from the burning of fossil fuels like coal, natural gas and oil. Tratos has in place standards and policies to reduce the CO2 emissions as well as to calculate the CO2 emissions and to mitigate their impact by planting trees, as well as using clean energy sources.
