The Approved Cables Initiative (ACI) was established to raise the profile of non-certified, substandard and unsafe cables. In just over three years the organisation has recognised profile within key Government circles as well as within industry and a clear aim to take its message to the wider construction industry.
It was established in response to the growing problem of substandard and defective cables in the UK. Since its inception many examples of defective cables – electric and data – have been exposed and although it focus is primarily a communication role it has more recently raised the bar and brought these problems to the attention of Government Ministers.
