Germano Bragagni Tratos

Mr. Germano Bragagni, born on March 31, 1953, is a seasoned professional with a remarkable career in the industrial sector. His journey began in 1972 when he embarked on a path that would ultimately lead him to become a prominent figure in cable manufacturing.

Educated as a perito technical electronic, Germano’s career initially took shape in the telecommunications industry. At the young age of 36, he assumed the pivotal role of overseeing the maintenance of the telecom lines in Arezzo, Grosseto, and Siena. This early responsibility demonstrated his leadership and technical prowess.

However, his career took a significant turn in 1989 when he decided to join Tratos, a leading cable manufacturing company. At Tratos, he assumed leadership of the FCC factory in Catania, which had recently become part of the Tratos group. This period in Sicily was marked by challenging circumstances, including the infamous Capaci bombing and the assassination of Judge Paolo Borsellino. Catania, in particular, faced a high level of violence, with approximately 300 homicides annually.

Despite these challenging conditions, Germano, known for his Tuscan determination and resolve, embarked on a mission to transform the FCC factory into a centre of excellence within the Tratos group. He invested in state-of-the-art technology and focused on producing medium-voltage cables, ultimately turning the FCC factory into a shining example of manufacturing prowess. Under his leadership, the factory not only survived but thrived.

In 1992, Germano Bragagni was appointed CEO of Tratos’ factories in Sicily, where he successfully modernised operations in just a few short years. His achievements did not go unnoticed, and in 1994, he assumed the role of CEO at Tratos Cavi S.p.A., a position he continues to hold to this day.

Beyond his significant contributions to Tratos, Mr. Bragagni has shaped the company’s strategy since 2004, overseeing the group’s comprehensive planning. Despite his extensive responsibilities, he maintains a personal connection to the Catania and UK factories, ensuring that they continue to excel under his guidance.

Outside of the business world, Germano Bragagni is an ardent sports enthusiast. He served as the President of Sulpilzia Calcio for a period, a testament to Tratos’ commitment to corporate responsibility and community engagement.

Germano Bragagni’s career trajectory is a testament to his resilience, leadership, and dedication to the cable manufacturing industry. His journey from a young telecom maintenance leader to the CEO of a global cable manufacturing powerhouse is a story of determination and success.

In addition to his remarkable career in the cable manufacturing industry, Mr. Germano Bragagni embodies the motto of his family, “Nihil Difficile Volenti,” which translates to “Nothing is Difficult for the Willing.” This motto was bestowed upon the Bragagni family by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II of the United Kingdom and was a guiding principle in his personal and professional life.

Under the motto “Nihil Difficile Volenti,” Mr. Bragagni has not only achieved success in the business world. Still, he has also contributed to the growth and prosperity of his company, employees, and the communities in which Tratos operates.
