Joint client project allows Tratos to deliver ground-breaking anchoring application

A partnership between Tratos and a leading steel rope manufacturer resulted in a significant technological achievement in the oil & gas sector – the development of a stranded, insulated rope which weighs over 56 tonnes, an industry record.

The project, set forth through the insight of Tratos Group’s Vice President; Ennio Bragagni-Capaccini and the client, merged the technical expertise of both companies, with Tratos providing the insulation for the client’s stranded steel rope.

Mr Bragagni said: “This project exemplifies our ethos of excellence and innovation as well as our ability to provide bespoke solutions for our customers. We took an undeniably excellent product and pushed the boundaries of cable technology to a new level.”

Tratos has also been at the forefront of technological innovations in the naval defence industry, having recently developed a bespoke cable spanning over 50km in a high-pressure sub-surface environment. This cable system is an integral part of Black Shark, a new generation heavyweight torpedo currently being employed within the defence sector of the Malaysian Marines.
