TRATOS FIBRE® CW1586

CABLE OPTICAL FIBRE 25 - EXTERNAL - MULTI MODE - AIRSPACED

Telecommunication Cables / Optical Fibres Cables / UK Telecom Fibre Optic Cables

This range of fibre cables is specifically designed for installation into underground ducts using cable pulling stockings and to allow the cable to be pressurised after installation. Being made in loose tube construction these cables contain 8 to 24 Multi Mode (50/125 µm) Fibres and 6 Polyethylene insulated copper conductors assembled as 3 pairs. The required number of tubes each containing 4 fibres plus colour coded polyethlene cores are assembled helically around a non-metallic central strength member, the design being specially chosen to ensure that the cable is neutrally balanced along its central axis. The interstices contain extrude fillers as required, the assembly of cores and tubes are covered overall with an aluminium foil moisture barrier bonded to a physically robust high density black polyethylene sheath, a rip cord is inserted under the sheath to aid stripping and termination of the cable. These cables are designed for pressurisation after installation.

Tratos has developed this cable to have the optimum balance of properties, toughness to withstand pulling into underground ducts using cable pulling stockings combined with a smooth, low coefficient of friction, surface, to ease installation and prevent jamming.

The multi-mode optical fibre (MM) fibres used to manufacture these cables for BT meet or exceed the requirements as specified in CW 1504 for systems operating in the wavelength range of 850nm to 1300nm.

Tratos use Lucent OFS and Prysmian fibres to manufacture the Optical Fibre Cables supplied to BT.

These cables meet or exceed the requirements of CW 1586,

All of the polymeric materials used in the construction of cables for BT meet or exceed the requirements of BT Specification CW1500-7 and are RoSH compliant

Dry or water blocked tubes or additional strength members can be supplied on request.
