Airfield Ground Lighting Cables (AGL) for Primary airport lighting circuits
Tratos AGL (Airfield Lighting) cable is designed and manufactured to comply with International Standards and Recommended Best Practices.
This single-core unscreened Airfield Ground Lighting cable, meeting Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) Type C (XLPE) and International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO) requirements and options, is manufactured with a tinned annealed copper stranded (Class 2) conductor, insulated XLPE insulation and sheathed overall with a Polyvinyl Chloride (OVC) sheath. The grade of XLPE insulation is specially chosen for its excellent electrical performance, the robust PVC sheath used by Tratos ensures outstanding pliability and protection.
Tratos have developed this cable to have the optimum balance of electrical and physical properties, toughness to withstand pulling into ducts combined with a smooth, low coefficient of friction, surface, to ease installation and prevent jamming.
For installations where electrical noise and interference could be a problem, Tratos Airfield Lighting cable can provide screened (shielded) cables and a range of thermoplastic sheathing (jacketing) materials, to match the environment in which the cable will be employed.
As the actual manufacturer of these Airfield Lighting cables, not simply a distributor, Tratos has total control of the design, quality and manufacturing process from the purchase of the raw materials through to final testing and despatch to our customers. Having control of the manufacturing process Tratos can ensure compatibility with most makes and types of cable glands and fittings.
