Type 2S and Type 2S.3 Elastomeric Insulated and Sheathed, Individually screened Mining cables based on AS/NZS 1972 and AS/NZS 5000.1

These individually copper/polyester screened cables are used for wiring of machines, such as continuous miners, shuttle cars and road headers or interconnection between mining machines and equipment where an elastomeric cable is more suitable. These cables may also be used for longwall lighting circuits, and may contain pilot and control cores or twisted pairs .

  • Conductor: flexible tinned  copper conductor
  • Pilot/Control Cores: EPR covered and composite screened flexible stranded tinned copper conductor
  • Power cores: EPR insulated Individual Composite Screen (earth conductor): Tinned
  • annealed copper braiding interwoven with polyester yarn
  • Centre Filler:: Elastomeric centre filler
  • Outer Sheath: TRATOS OUTER SHEATH®, better than heavy duty sheath
  • Standard colour: black
  • Marking: TRATOS + R-EP-90/HD-90-CSP + TYPE 2S-IS + YEAR + SIZE + Metre Mark
  • Power Core Identification: white with black numbers.

Application

These individually copper/polyester screened cables are used for wiring of machines, such as continuous miners, shuttle cars and road headers or interconnection between mining machines and equipment where an elastomeric cable is more suitable. These cables may also be used for longwall lighting circuits, and may contain pilot and control cores or twisted pairs . Cable users will be assisted in making the appropriate cable selection by reference to the description of cable types in Standard AS/NZS 1972.

  • Conductor: Flexible copper conductor
  • Power cores 0.6/1 kV - Insulation: EPR (R-EP-90)
  • Power cores 3,3/3,3 kV - textile reinforced semiconductive tape conductor screen, Insulation: EPR (R-EP-90), textile reinforced semiconductive tape insulation screen
  • Pilot/Control Cores: EPR (R-EP-90)
  • Individual Composite Screen: Tinned annealed copper braiding interwoven with polyester yarn
  • Centre Filling: Elastomeric centre filler
  • Outer Sheath: TRATOS OUTER SHEATH®, better than heavy duty sheath
  • Standard colour: black
  • Marking: TRATOS + R-EP-90/HD-90-CSP + TYPE 2S-IS + YEAR + SIZE + Metre Mark
  • Core Identification: 0.6/1 kV white insulation, black and numbered, 3,3/3,3 kV white numerals printed on the black semiconductive screen
