A modular lighting distribution and control system for the new Suffolk One sixth form centre in East Anglia has been designed by Modular Wiring Systems, a subsidiary of TRATOS.
A £50m project, Suffolk One is a learning centre for 16-19 year olds in South West Ipswich and South Suffolk. Opened in September 2010, facilities on site includes a performing arts centre, an indoor sports hall, an outdoor multi-use games area and construction and motor vehicle zones.
The decision to go down the pre-fabricated modular wiring route was made on the basis of speed and accuracy, the company says. Such a system reduced on site wiring time as it is delivered ready-made – all the installer needs to do is connect the system components together. This concept is also designed to reduce the risk of connection errors during installation.
