TRATOS UMBILICAL CABLES PROVE SUCCESSFUL AT OMC 2011
Tratos is pleased to announce it enjoyed a successful show at Offshore Mediterranean Conference (OMC) 2011, with its subsea umbilical cables gaining particular attention.
OMC was established to disseminate offshore science and technical knowledge, to promote and support education for offshore engineers and technicians and advance the development of tools and procedures required to explore, study and further the sustainable use of the energy resources in the Mediterranean.
With the oil and gas sectors being Tratos’ primary market, representing 50% of its turnover, OMC was an ideal showcase for the company and it received considerable interest from visitors.
Tratos products on display at OMC included a selection from its extensive range of hydraulic, electro-hydraulic and electrical umbilical cabling for subsea oil and gas extraction and Oil&Gas BS6883 cables.
The Tratos subsea cable range allows for hydraulic and injection fluids to be transmitted, as well as power and data, depending on the cable type. They are suited for installation at depths up to 2000 metres, with select umbilicals qualified for depths of 3000 meters. The bespoke subsea umbilical cables manufactured in alliance with Brazilian cable manufacturer MFX was of particular interest to visitors at OMC. Tratos produce the internal signalling and power, whilst MFX manufacture the tubes and assemble the finish product. The result is an integrated system that produces exceptional quality cabling which other manufacturers are unable to guarantee as they outsource key components.
Tratos Oil&Gas BS6883 low and medium voltage and instrumentation cables were also displayed at OMC. The range is available with a number of options including reduced halogen and halogen free, fire resistant up to 950°c, armoured and unarmoured and individually or collectively screened.
All Tratos offshore cables have been tested extensively both in laboratory trials and actual installations and have proven to be exceptionally reliable. They can be produced to a very wide range of standards including UK standard BS6883, Norwegian standard NEK 606, Eni Italian standard and also to bespoke customer requirements.
As you would expect from one of the world’s leading cable manufactures, Tratos cables are produced using high grade component parts, include recyclable materials where possible. A high level of customer support is provided by Tratos to ensure customer requirements are met regardless of country of origin.
Following the success enjoyed by Tratos at OMC, the company will exhibit at Offshore Europe in Aberdeen in September 2011.
