Tratos FIBRE® CW1853 – COF 600

CABLE OPTICAL FIBRE 600 - EXTERNAL - SINGLEMODE NON-PRESSURISED

Telecommunication Cables / Optical Fibres Cables / UK Telecom Fibre Optic Cables

This range of COF 600 fibre cables (CW1853) is specifically designed and manufactured for installation into underground duct by the use of direct pulling techniques with a rope or glass fibre pulling rod.

CW1853 cable is for use in transmission systems operating over the wavelength range 1260nm to 1625nm.

Tratos FIBRE® CW1853 BT  fibre cables are of loose tube construction containing 36, 48 or 72 single-mode fibres constructed in units of 12 colour coded fibres within each water blocked tube. The individual fibre and tube colour identification scheme used is in accordance with CW 1853. The required number of tubes plus dummy fillers where required are assembled helically around a non-metallic central strength member, the design being specially chosen to ensure that the cable is neutrally balanced along its central axis. The interstices contain water blocking before the application of a water blocking binder tape and black high-density polyethylene sheath, two rip cords are inserted, diametrically opposite, under the sheath to aid stripping and termination of the cable. The robust polyethylene sheath used by Tratos meets or exceeds the requirements of BS EN 50290-2-24 and ensures outstanding pliability and protection.

TRATOS-FIBRE-CW1853_SECTIONTratos has developed CW1853 Fibre Cable to have the optimum balance of properties, toughness to pulling into ducts combined with a smooth, low coefficient of friction, surface, to ease installation and prevent jamming.

The Step Index single-mode optical fibre (SMF) fibres used to manufacture these cables for BT met or exceed the requirements for both Category 2 as specified in CW 1505 for systems operating in the wavelength range of 1260nm to 1625nm.

Tratos use Lucent OFS and Prysmian fibres to manufacture the Optical Fibre Cables supplied to BT.

These cables meet or exceed the requirements of CW 1853.

All of the polymeric materials used in the construction of cables for BT meet or exceed the requirements of BT Specification CW1500-7 and are RoSH compliant.
