TRATOS® HV – 38kV to 66kV – (72.5 kV) – CU/XLPE/AT/HDPE

HIGH VOLTAGE CABLE BASED ON IEC 608040

Energy Cables / High Voltage Cables - HV
Energy Cables / DNO Approved Cables / HV Energy Cables DNO

Tratos HV 38kV/66kV (72.5kV) cable is manufactured in accordance with IEC 60840, incorporating requirements from other relevant standards, including IEC 60228; 61443; 60885; and HD632. Constructed with triple layer dry cure XLPE insulation/COPPER WIRE SCREEN/WATER BARRIER and HDPE sheath, the design controls the stress in the insulation, reducing breakdown and leakage current in High Voltage (HV) cable systems. For installations where increased fire performance is required, Tratos can supply cables with an LSZH outer sheath.
Applications include substations, power transmission and distribution for national power networks when the requirement is for underground, not overhead cables, an increasing requirement to help protect areas of natural beauty or for localised biological and ecological reasons. Designed to be maintenance-free, Tratos HV copper or aluminium conductor, triple extruded, dry-cured XLPE insulated cables offer exceptional long-term reliability and performance.

Where the use of overhead conductors is accepted, Tratos also produce a complementary range of innovative, hybrid centre, High-Temperature Low Sag (HTLS) overhead conductors that are less visually intrusive.

Our advanced comprehensive in-house testing facilities include one of the largest Faraday Test Cages in Europe, so we can ensure that HV cables produced by Tratos follow and meet the requirements of national or international technical standards. Tratos can also issue the appropriate type of test certification based on either testing in our own approved in-house facilities or external laboratories.

Tratos also works closely with manufacturers of High Voltage (HV) accessories, including a complete range of HV joints, terminations and fixings.

Tratos is an international manufacturer and supplier of High Voltage (HV) Cables and Extra High Voltage EHV) Cables up to 245 kV. Established in 1966, it has been involved in this emerging market segment, starting production of HV Cables up to 245 kV in 2009.

Tratos HV and EHV cables are distinguished by Tratos’ ongoing investment in the latest technology, materials and human resources needed to meet the highest safety and performance requirements demanded of HV and EHV cables installed in Electrical Transmission Systems around the world.

Tratos HV 38kV to 66kV cable is used for the transmission and distribution of electric power and is suitable for installation in ducts, trenches or direct buried underground or within buildings. These cables are ideal for use to connect wind farms and other renewable energy to existing grid systems.
