TRATOSFLEX AMP – Shore Power Cable

As the actual manufacturer of these cables, not simply a distributor, Tratos has total control of the design, quality and manufacturing process from purchasing the raw materials through to final testing and despatch to our customers.
When designing and manufacturing its TRATOSFLEX AMP cables, Tratos draws upon several decades of experience as an Internationally recognised specialised manufacturer and supplier of reliable, robust cables for arduous applications such as the mining industry and flexible power cables for cranes used in Ports worldwide.
Conductors are Tratos designs of finely stranded plain copper, class 5 according to IEC 60228, which gives increased flexibility. The insulation of TRATOSFLEX AMP power cores is triple extruded conductor semi-conducting screen, EPR insulation, semi-conducting core screen, the earth cores are covered with a semi-conducing compound, the insulation used on Control cores is XLPE in accordance with IEC 60092-360. The group of control cores are collectively screened with a braid of fine plain copper wires. The complete cable assembly is made up of 3 power (phase) cores laid up with 2 x earth cores plus 1 x control cable group laid in the interstices. Overall is a high abrasion resistant, flexible, robust and tough either a Chlorosulphonated polyethylene (CSP) or chlorinated polyethylene rubber (CPE) (SH) sheath, which gives protection from the saliferous marine environment in which these cables work. Tratos can also supply cables with a Black Polyurethane sheath when required.
TRATOSFLEX AMP cables are available in sizes 120 mm2 and 185 mm2. Other sizes can be supplied on request.
Cables can be supplied with groups of 4 or 6, 2,5 mm2 collectively screened control cores. Fibre optic units can be included when requested.
Certain designs of TRATOSFLEX AMP cables are available with tinned copper conductors on request.

Tratos’ robust Alternative Marine Power Cables (TRATOSFLEX AMP) provide the high-voltage shore connection (HVSC) used to supply ships with electrical power from shore.
