SCOPE: This specification details the requirements for a range of figure of ‘8’ aerial self supporting loose tube construction optical fibre cables containing 12, 24, 48, 72 and 96 singlemode fibres for installation in the British Telecommunications plc Overhead Network. These cables are for use in transmission systems operating over the wavelength range 1250nm to 1650nm.

Additionally, this specification also details the requirements for associated hand tools for use during installation activities of the cable.
