Tratos® CW1858 COF 315 – ADSS – Aerial UK telecom

ALL DIELECTRIC SELF-SUPPORTING - OVERHEAD FIBRE CABLE - ADSS

Telecommunication Cables / Optical Fibres Cables / UK Telecom Fibre Optic Cables

Tratos manufactures a range of All Dielectric Self Supporting (ADSS) overhead fibre cables (COF315) for use in the Openreach Overhead access network.

Tratos has designed these cables specifically for use below 33kV power lines.

These cables are of multi element construction containing 36 or 48 single mode fibres. These 36 and 38 fibre cables are manufactured in separate water blocked tubes containing 12 colour coded fibres. The required number of tubes plus dummy fillers are assembled together helically around a single strength member with water blocking filling in the interstices. The design parameters being specially chosen to ensure that the cable is neutrally balanced along its central axis. The fibre assembly is covered with a high electrical grade, anti-tracking, Black HDPE sheath. The robust abrasion resistant HDPE sheath used by Tratos ensures outstanding pliability, electrical and mechanical protection. Two ripcords are inserted under the sheath to aid stripping and terminating of the cable. The cable sheath has two equally spaced, axial yellow stripes, to identify it

The single mode fibres used by Tratos to manufacture these cables meet or exceed the requirements of Category 2 fibres as defined in BT Specification CW 1505. The transmission application for these cables are for systems operating in the wavelength range of 1260nm to 1625nm

Tratos useS Lucent OFS and Prysmian fibres to manufacture the Optical Fibre Cables supplied to BT.

These ADSS lightweight COF 315 cables are specially designed for overhead use and meet or exceed the requirements of CW 1858.

No metallic materials are used in the construction of these cables.

The cable meets or exceeds the Operational Requirements specified in BT Specification CW1500-11.

All of the polymeric materials used in the construction of cables for BT meet or exceed the requirements of BT Specification CW1500-7 and are RoSH compliant.
