TRATOSCOILFLEX® TRATOSCOILFLEX®-K TRATOSCOILFLEX®-FO

TRATOSCOILFLEX, TRATOSCOILFLEX-K And TRATOSCOILFLEX-FO are special TRATOS-designed and manufactured low voltage, lead-free Control cables. They are intended for gravity-fed basket collection applications on all types of material handling machines using either a grab or a spreader to hold and lift the product or container. The TRATOSCOILFLEX range is a member of the TRATOSFLEX range of cables for power and data transmission for moving applications. Its unique cable design focuses on tightening the internal structure to accommodate a 6 core group with Kevlar support and extra flexible conductor, granting the cable of exceptional strength and flexibility and reduced outer diameter, which prevents twisting and breakage due to the elongation caused by the vertical payout and lasts longer under constant severe conditions for electrical feeding and communication to the equipment to which it is connected. TRATOSCOILFLEX also features an outer sheath black coloured of special polychloroprene compound Tratoscoilfex-OS, better than 5GM3 quality. To ensure correct operation Tratos recommend Clockwise coiling starting from the bottom of the basket. This design allows the cable to coil freely at even the most demanding sites with high winds and at higher uncoiling speeds. This cable was one of the first of its type to be produced without the inclusion of metallic lead, which makes it environmentally friendly in both manufacturing and use.

Today, TRATOSFLEX cables are installed at more than 300 ports & terminals worldwide in the most demanding applications for prestigious global operators, including manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic yards. With a rated voltage 300/500 V, TRATOSCOILFLEX is suitable for all basket applications, being most commonly found on RTGs (Rubber Tyred Gantry), RMG (Rail Mounted Gantry) and shorter type of STS (feeder or Panamax and below) as well as certain Ship Unloaders (SU). The Fibre Optic unit included TRATOSCOILFEX-FO version is well known and used on applications where the spreaders features functions related with cameras or sensors, for a more complex communication with the spreader; which are frequently related to advanced automation and safety features. Its usual duty is on Cranes type ASC (Automatic Stacking Cranes), A-RTG (Automated Rubber Tyred Gantry) or ARMG (Automatic Rail Mounted Gantry). It is also in use on basket applications on shipyard Cranes, portal cranes or shorter Ship Unloaders (SU), the cable can feed all kinds of material grabbing machinery such as various types of spreaders (including fully electric), grabs or hooks used for container, bulk materials, steel of various types. In addition, TRATOSCOILFEX-K version is designed to perform and coil even at the lowest existing operational temperatures.
