TRATOSFESTOON® – Festoon Cable

TRATOSFESTOON® low voltage power and control festoon cables is a TRATOS designed and manufactured flexible low voltage cable for festoon systems on all kind of cranes for material handling, as a response to the need for cables with reduced dimension for use on a festooning system especially recommended for port applications. Another member of the TRATOSFLEX range of flexible cables for power and data transmission in applications where the cable moves in operation. Its unique cable design focuses on tightening the internal structure, granting the cable an exceptional strength and flexibility and reduced outer diameter, which prevents twisting and breakage and lasts longer under constant severe operating conditions for providing a reliable electrical feed and communication link to its connected equipment. TRATOSFESTOON also features the outer sheath black colour special compound Tratosfestoon OS (5GM3 level), a flexible tinned conductor Cl. 5 DIN VDE EN 60228 VDE 0295 (previously VDE 0295).

Today TRATOSFLEX cables are installed in more than 300 ports & terminals worldwide in the most demanding applications for prestigious global operators, including manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic yards. Its unique construction and materials make this cable suitable for all types of festoon operation. From festoon cable systems on smaller yard cranes, type RTG (Rubber Tyred Gantry), RMG (Rail Mounted Gantry) or ASC (Automatic Stacking Crane); to the larger festoon cable system used in Ship unloaders and STS cranes (Ship to Shore) including high-speed applications and motorised festoons at speeds up to 240 mpm.
