TRATOSMART®-(N)SHTÖU-JZ — TRATOSMART®-(N)SHTÖU-JZK — TRATOSGREEN®-(N)SHTÖU-JZ manufactured according to standard VDE 0250 p.814 (as applicable) are TRATOS designed and manufactured flexible low voltage control cables for installation on cable reels fitted to all kind of cranes used for material handling. These were designed and developed in response to the requirement for cables with reduced dimensions suitable for being laid on the ground in cable reeling applications specially recommended for end feed applications. TRATOSMART®-(N)SHTÖU-JZ — TRATOSMART®-(N)SHTÖU-JZK — TRATOSGREEN®-(N)SHTÖU-JZ are members of the highly flexible range of crane cables for control and communication in applications where the cable moves in operation.TRATOSGREEN – (N)SHTOU-JZ (Reduced halogens and reduced toxicity) cables are recommended for applications where enhanced fire performance (LSZH) is required. The unique design of these cables focuses on tightening the internal structure, granting the cable exceptional strength and flexibility in a cable with a reduced outer diameter, this design prevents twisting and breakage and lasts longer under constant severe operating conditions thus providing a reliable control and communication link to the equipment it is connected to. .

The Tratos design features are special extra flexible Class 5 conductors, Tratosmart-I® insulation which is equivalent to or better than EPR 3GI3 quality and a choice of sheathing compounds, Tratosmart-OS® 5GM3 or the higher duty 5GM5, both based upon award winning Tratos-JBA® compound technology. All Tratosflex cables designed for reeling duty include an antitorsion braid embedded in the sheath to prevent twisting in service. TRATOSGREEN – (N)SHTOU-JZ features a Low Smoke Zero Halogen sheath having the same robust characteristics as the other Tratos sheathing compounds.

Although supplied as standard in a multicore multilayer design, multipair screened designs for special signalling applications are available upon special request.
TRATOSMART and TRATOSGREEN are frequently used as a communication cable and are recommended for various types of mobile equipment used in port, mining, shipyards and other industrial sectors, they can be found providing communication to STS container cranes, Ship Unloaders (SU), Stacker Reclaimer (SR), Multipurpose Cranes or different types of Cranes used in Ports or Shipyards. They are also used as a control cable on other types of moving machinery in fields such as steel mills, automotive and machine tools.

Today, TRATOSFLEX cables are installed in more than 300 ports and terminals worldwide including manual, semi-automatic and fully automatic yards – in some of the most demanding applications for prestigious global operators. Its unique construction and the materials used in its manufacture make this cable suitable for communications on many types of cranes.
