Tratos offers a total package of solutions for instrumentation cable problems, including specialised products to meet customers’ exact requirements. Long-term experience, technical information, and assistance with cable selection are resources available to customers through a team of experts who are able to advise and design instrumentation cables for any application or in conformance with any specification. The team’s specialist technical library of information continues to grow daily as Tratos invest in the latest technology, materials and human resources needed to meet the highest performance requirements in the field of instrumentation cabling.

A wide variety of instrumentation cables are manufactured to meet specific operational requirements and technical standards. Tratos supplies Armoured or Unarmoured control and instrumentation cables for onshore indoor or outdoor installations in the harsh, demanding environments encountered in the petroleum industry, chemical and petrochemical plants, and electrical power plants. Tratos can also supply an extensive range of cables for the ships and offshore industry.

Instrumentation Cables Usage

These cables are typically used for control, instrumentation, and signalling circuits, as well as data and voice transmission. They are also ideal for the interconnection of electrical equipment and instruments, particularly in and around process plants.

Individually screened or collectively screened cables are designed to protect the transmitted signal from internal and external interferences and disturbances.

Tratos cables are available to meet the requirements of IEC 60079-14 clause 8.9.3 (“Classification of hazardous areas and installation requirements”, which covers special requirements for hazardous areas, including cables) and BS EN 60079-14.

We can manufacture instrumentation cables also according to the following standards:

British BS5308 Part 1 and Part 2 Cables
British / European BS EN 50288-7 Cables
North American UL 13, UL 2250, UL 1277 cables

Tratos instrumentation cables are also available in low smoke and halogen-free versions, so they are suitable for control rooms and areas where workers are present and for safety-critical and emergency systems where limited circuit integrity or fire-resistant cable is required

As the actual manufacturer of instrumentation cables, not simply a distributor, Tratos has total control of the design, quality, and manufacturing process from purchasing the raw materials through to final testing and dispatch to our customers. Tratos can ensure compatibility with most makes and types of glands by controlling the manufacturing process.
