TRATOS® MONOTUBE DIELECTRIC FIBRE OPTIC CABLE
Telecommunication Cables / Optical Fibres Cables / Telecom Italia Fibre
Tratos is one of the leading fibre optic cable manufacturers in Europe. Its versatility, flexibility, and capability have still more to offer, and Tratos is at the forefront of enabling those next strides. The company has spent 20 years exploring and refining fibre cables for its customers; a journey that has seen it develop the world’s smallest microcables. Testimony to Tratos’ work in this field is its ability to host events – Tratos’ international exhibition Fiberness showcases the latest advancements as an optical fibre cable manufacturer, attracting senior executives from leading telecom companies.
Years of significant investment in equipment, materials and human resources have led to the development and successful testing of fire resistant fibre optic cable. The multi-functional capabilities of manufacturing fibre optics were paired with special compounds to produce Tratos’ low smoke, zero halogen optical cable, a cable of exceptionally high performance. Its fire resistant optical fibre cable is installed in the Rome-Naples’ high-speed train, and Tratos’ fibre optical cable is also part of a new telecommunications’ range designed specifically to increase domestic broadband speed and reliability; faster and easier to install.
Fibre optical cable for broadband will remain one of the most rapidly developing sectors in the next few years. With its FTTH (Fibre to the Home) range, Tratos, as a fibre optic cable manufacturer, has developed a simple solution for different installation systems. These cables can be used inside buildings to connect individual flats. Run from the bottom to the top of the building, one or more of the cables in the bundle can branch off at any point and connect in end-users’ homes. Built for the broadband revolution, Tratos Microcable compact and lightweight range contains a high-fibre density. The cable maximises the fibre count available in small diameter yet remains flexible and lightweight enough for air-blown installation in very small ducts, requiring fewer joints in installation and reduced resistance when passed through ducting.
Tratos fibre optic cables are easy to install and also provides a simple, neat and commercially viable solution to upgrade an existing network at a later date as fibre is deployed as and when needed. Tratos Microcables can be used in operating temperatures of -30°C/+60ºC. The range has been designed and manufactured to IEC 60794.
Tratos innovative use of optical cable doesn’t stop there. It is now used routinely in the OPGW market, its reeling cable range Tratoflex has benefited, and the company is the market leader in microcables. Its optical fibre has been used extensively in Italy to welcome a new era of faster broadband connections, and the company has created a unique fast-connection community in the village of its birth, Pieve in Tuscany.
Note: This is an indicative range of Standards to which Tratos manufactures cables. Cables manufactured in accordance with other Standards are available on request.
