ARMOURED POWER and CONTROL CABLES - LOW SMOKE HALOGEN FREE

Special Cables / Marine Cables

TRATOS MARINE AFR – (Armoured Fire Resistant) 0,6/1kV

TRATOS MARINE FAFR – (Flexible conductor Armoured Fire Resistant) 0,6/1kV

TRATOSMARINE A (Armoured Fire Resistant) and TRATOSMARINE FAFR (Flexible conductor Armoured Fire Resistant) 0,6/1 kV are TRATOS made cables in response to the need of armoured fire resistant power and control cables, low smoke halogen free for Marine application, according standards IEC 60092350-353, IEC 60092-360, IEC 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-3-22, IEC 60754-1 and IEC 60754-2, IEC 61034-1 and 61034-2 , IEC 60331-11 and IEC60331-21.

These cable unique design reduces the installation cost of the shipcables due to their increased pliability, reduced dimension and weight. Its special conductors and/or design (cores assembly, braid…) eases bending in order to speed up installation, and the use of new and innovative materials reduces its weight and diameter up to 20% against older generation cables. The flame retardant outer sheath is based on polyolefin and has been especially developed by TRATOS to resist damage and to reduce to a minimum friction during installation speeding the process.

Made of a plain conductor (tinned on request) of annealed copper cl. 2 (or cl.5 available) according IEC 60228 and XLPE and Mica tape insulation. With halogen free compound filler when necessary and SHF1 Halogen free thermoplastic sheath. Armoured by a plain copper wire braid (tinned when requested) and inner covering SHF1 halogen free thermoplastic sheath.

Design guide according to IEC 60092350-353 applicable to shipboard and offshore non radial field power cables with extruded solid insulation intended for fixed installation; and materials according IEC 60092-360 which specifies the requirements for electrical, mechanical and particular characteristics of insulating and sheathing materials intended for use in shipboard and fixed and mobile offshore unit power, control, instrumentation and telecommunication cables.

Fire resistance according IEC 60331-11 and IEC 60331-21 specifies the test apparatus to be used for testing cables required to maintain circuit integrity when subject to fire alone when the test condition is based upon a flame with a controlled heat output corresponding to a temperature of at least 750 °C

Flame retardance according IEC 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-3-22 which specifies the procedure for testing the resistance to vertical flame propagation for a single vertical electrical insulated conductor or cable, or optical fibre cable, under fire conditions; and halogen free properties under IEC 60754-1 which specifies the apparatus and procedure for the determination of the amount of halogen acid gas, other than hydrofluoric acid, evolved during the combustion of compounds based on halogenated polymers and compounds containing halogenated additives taken from electric or optical fibre cable constructions. The smoke emission is determined by IEC 61034-1 and IEC 61034-2 provides details of the test apparatus to be used for measuring smoke emission when electric or optical fibre cables are burnt under defined conditions.
