Electrical installations in ships – Part 376: Cables for control and instrumentation circuits 150/250 V (300 V)

IEC 60092-376 is applicable to screened and unscreened cables used in control and instrumentation circuits on ships and offshore units. These cables are designed with extruded solid insulation and have a voltage rating of 150/250 V (300 V), as defined in Clause 4 of the standard. They are intended for fixed installations, where consistent signal integrity, safety, and reliability are essential under marine operating conditions.

IEC 60092-376 standard includes both single-core and multi-core cable designs, suitable for applications such as signal transmission, process control, and communication with onboard systems. The various types of cables covered are specified in Clause 5. These cables play a critical role in system monitoring and automation onboard ships and offshore platforms, where stable and interference-resistant signal transmission is crucial.

The constructional requirements and test methods are aligned with those given in IEC 60092-350, unless otherwise stated in this document. This ensures compatibility with the broader IEC 60092 series, facilitating standardisation in design, testing, and installation of shipboard and offshore cable systems.

IEC 60092-376 standard is also available as IEC 60092-376: RLV, which includes a redline version highlighting all changes to the technical content compared to the previous edition, making it easier for users to identify updates and modifications.
