TELECOMUNICATIONS AND INSTRUMENTATION CABLES - LOW SMOKE HALOGEN FREE

Special Cables / Marine Cables

TRATOS MARINE AIS – (Armoured Individual Screen) 60 V – 250 V

TRATOS MARINE AICS – (Armoured Individual & Collective Screen) 60 V – 250 V

TRATOSMARINE AIS (Armoured Individual Screen) 60V-250V and TRATOSMARINE AICS (Armoured Individual & Collective Screen) 60V-250 V are TRATOS made cables in response to the need of armoured telecommunication and instrumentation cables, low smoke halogen free for Marine application, according standards IEC 60092-370, IEC 60092-376, IEC 60092360, IEC 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-3-22, IEC 60754-1 and IEC 60754-2, IEC 61034-1 and 61034-2.

These cable unique design reduces the installation cost of the shipcables due to their increased pliability, reduced dimension and weight. Its special conductors and/or design (cores assembly, braid…) eases bending in order to speed up installation, and the use of new and innovative materials reduces its weight and diameter up to 20% against older generation cables. The flame retardant outer sheath is based on polyolefin and has been especially developed by TRATOS to resist damage and to reduce to a minimum friction during installation speeding the process.

Made of a plain conductor (tinned on request) of annealed copper cl. 2 (or cl.5 available) according IEC 60228 and XLPE insulation, laid up on assembled pairs, triples, quads. With a shield of individual or individual & collective Aluminium/ polyester tape with drained wire stranded tinned copper and SHF1 Halogen free thermoplastic sheath. Armoured plain copper wire braid.

Design guideline according to IEC 60092-370 for selection and installation of shipboard and offshore unit cables intended for electrical systems used in both essential and non-essential analogue or digital signal communication, transmission and control networks, including types suitable for high-frequency signals and IEC 60092-376 applicable to screened and unscreened cables for control and instrumentation circuits on ships and offshore units. The cables have extruded solid insulation with a voltage rating of 150/250V (300V) and are intended for fixed installations.

The used materials follow the IEC 60092-360 specifies the requirements for electrical, mechanical and particular characteristics of insulating and sheathing materials intended for use in shipboard and fixed and mobile offshore unit power, control, instrumentation and telecommunication cables.

Flame retardance according IEC 60332-1-2 and IEC 60332-3-22 which specifies the procedure for testing the resistance to vertical flame propagation for a single vertical electrical insulated conductor or cable, or optical fibre cable, under fire conditions; and halogen free properties under IEC 60754-1 which specifies the apparatus and procedure for the determination of the amount of halogen acid gas, other than hydrofluoric acid, evolved during the combustion of compounds based on halogenated polymers and compounds containing halogenated additives taken from electric or optical fibre cable constructions. The smoke emission is determined by IEC 61034-1 and IEC 61034-2 provides details of the test apparatus to be used for measuring smoke emission when electric or optical fibre cables are burnt under defined conditions.
