TRATOS® Railways 11kV MV cable
Tratos 11kV MV cables are used to interconnect railway equipment within substations on Railway premises and property.
Tratos Railways 11kV MV cables are manufactured in accordance with Network Rail NR/PS/ELP/00008, incorporating requirements from other relevant standards including BS 6622 and IEC 60502-2.
Tratos MV (Medium Voltage) cables from 6.35 kV to 11 kV are available with circular solid aluminium for supplying d.c. traction substations, circular stranded compacted aluminium conductors for interconnection of equipment within substations or circular stranded compacted copper conductors for interconnection of equipment within substations. All these Railways Medium Voltage cables are manufactured with triple extruded, dry-cured HEPR or XLPE insulation. Metallic insulation screens comprise copper wires, in single or three core designs, armoured or unarmoured. MDPE sheathed in accordance with NR/PS/ELP/00008 and BS 6622. Water-blocked designs are available on request.
For installations where increased fire performance is required Tratos can supply cables with an LSZH outer sheath.
Designs based upon BS 7835 and BS EN 60502 are also available.
Tratos Railways 11kV MV cables are designed to be maintenance-free. Tratos Medium Voltage cables offer exceptional long-term reliability and performance.
Our advanced comprehensive in-house testing facilities include one of the largest Faraday Test Cages in Europe so we can ensure that MV cables produced by Tratos follow and meet the requirements of national or international technical standards. Tratos can also issue the appropriate type of test certification based on either testing in our own approved in-house facilities or external laboratories.
Tratos also work closely with manufacturers of Medium Voltage (MV) accessories including a complete range of MV joints, terminations and fixings.
