Meter Tails – TRATOS® NYY & 6181Y

PVC Insulated and sheathed LV Power cable used for meter tails – plain stranded class 2 copper conductor, PVC Insulated and PVC sheathed 300/500V to BS 6004 (BCA code 6181Y) or Type NYY to DIN VDE 0276-603 VDE 0276-603

Tratos can supply LSZH versions of these cables complying with BS 8573 where the contribution of cables to a fire hazard cables require the use of cables with a low smoke, zero halogen (LSZH) properties.  

Versions of all of these types are available manufactured in accordance with IEC 60502-1

Cable Made In Britain - Manufactured in the UKAlthough not used by the TNO’s or DNO’s Tratos also manufacture and supply a range of LV cables used by Contractors for power and lighting circuits as well as building wiring. These cables are suitable for Installation surface mounted or embedded conduits, cable trunking or similar closed systems. For domestic, office and light industrial applications BCA code 6242Y/6242B.

For used in larger installations TRATOS® 6491X – PVC Conduit Wire H07-U & H07-R BCA code 6491X, Cables for general applications. Single core non-sheathed cables insulated with thermoplastic PVC insulation. 

Also sometimes used by contractors is an additional range of LV cables supplied by Tratos that is used for the internal wiring of switch, control, metering, relay and instrument panels of power switchgear, and for such purposes as internal connections in rectifier equipment and in motor starters and controllers. Popularly known as Tri-Rated to BS, UL and CSA standards
