DNO Approved Cables used by Northern Ireland Electricity Networks (NIE Networks)

Tratos supplies a comprehensive range of Distribution Network Operator (DNO) approved cables for use of Northern Ireland Electricity Networks (NIE Networks). The long partnership has seen the delivery of such cables directly from Tratos’ stock or on short manufacturing lead times for special cables needed for larger projects.

Tratos is a reliable supplier of DNO approved cables for the exclusive use of  Northern Ireland Electricity Networks ( NIE Networks ).

Northern Ireland Electricity Networks ( NIE Networks ) owns the electricity transmission and distribution network and operates the electricity distribution network which transports electricity to over 860,000 customers and employs over 1,200 people. 

Every year NIE invest around £100 million in the network, which comprises of 2,200 kilometres of transmission network, 47,000 kilometres of distribution network and 300 major substations.

Acquired by ESB in December 2010, NIE Networks remains an autonomous organisation with its own Board and management teams and separate regulation via the Utility Regulator.
