Tratosflex crane cables are specifically designed for continuous reeling onto and off drums or reels. They can supply power, control and signalling functions ,including fibre-optic cables and components operating in high-speed reeling applications up to 300 m/min.

An example of this is the Tratos ESDB cable series, designed for high-speed reeling applications, where the tightening of the structure prevents unwanted internal movement of components, resulting in improved performance and extended cable life. This unique design feature prevents twisting, which can lead to possible conductor breakage, during high-speed reeling (up to 300 m/min) operations.

Due to the use of rubber insulations, fillers, and sheaths developed and mixed internally by Tratos, Tratosflex-ESDB reeling drum cables can operate in temperatures from -50ºC to +90ºC. The robust rubber insulations and sheaths used by Tratos ensure outstanding abrasion resistance, flexibility, and protection.
