Tratos is a reliable supplier of DNO approved cables for the exclusive use of Electricity Supply Board.
Electricity Supply Board (ESB) was established in 1927 as a statutory corporation in the Republic of Ireland under the Electricity (Supply) Act 1927. With a holding of 95%, ESB is majority owned by the Irish Government with the remaining 5% held by the trustees of an Employee Share Ownership Plan.
As a strong, diversified, vertically integrated utility, ESB operates right across the electricity market: from generation, through transmission and distribution to supply. In addition, ESB extracts further value at certain points along this chain: supplying gas, using our networks to carry fibre for telecommunications, developing electric vehicle public charging infrastructure and more.
ESB is a leading Irish utility focused on providing excellent customer service and maintaining our financial strength. We have a regulated asset base of approximately €9 billion with 43% of electricity generation capacity in the all-island market. We currently supply electricity to approximately 1.4 million customers throughout the island of Ireland. ESB Group employs approximately 8,000 people.
ESB’s mission is to bring sustainable and competitive energy solutions to all customers and our vision is to be Ireland’s foremost energy company competing successfully in the all-island market.
ESB Networks finances builds and maintains the transmission system through which electricity flows from generation stations to bulk supply points near cities and towns across Ireland.
They carry out all the functions relating to the electricity distribution system. This includes planning, construction, maintenance and operation of the distribution networks, metering of customer end-use.
The distribution system allows for the flow of electricity from the transmission system to 2.3 million customer premises in Ireland. It comprises networks operating at 110kV in the Dublin area, and nationwide the networks operating at 38kV, 20kV and 10kV and low voltage (LV).
ESB networks has a full coverage of Ireland.
