DNO Approved Cables used by SP Energy Networks (SPEN)

Tratos has established successful cooperation with SPEN and is supplying a comprehensive range of Distribution Network Operator (DNO) approved cables.

The special partnership has seen the delivery of such cables directly from Tratos’ stock or on short manufacturing lead times for unique cables needed for larger projects.

Tratos is a reliable supplier of DNO approved cables for the exclusive use of Scottish and Southern Energy.

SP Energy Networks, as a Distribution and Transmission Network Operator, keep electricity flowing to homes and businesses throughout Central and Southern Scotland, North Wales, Merseyside, Cheshire and North Shropshire. They operate in three of the UK’s largest cities (Liverpool, Glasgow & Edinburgh) accounting for 1.6m (43%) of their customers.

SPEN transmits, distributes and connects electricity to and from 3.5 million homes and businesses over their network, which has 30,000 substations (1 for every 100 customers), 40,000km overhead lines (that’s once around the globe!) and 65,000km underground cables.
